Dr. Jakobi named new Chair for Women in Science and Engineering

Aging In Place Cluster Leader, Dr. Jennifer Jakobi, has just been appointed the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada Chair for Women in Science and Engineering for the British Columbia/Yukon region.

This Westcoast Women in Engineering Science and Technology (WWEST) program mobilizes Dr. Jakobi’s leadership to roles that encourage, explore, understand and empower change for underrepresented people in STEM. Her work in this new role will help strengthen the Aging In Place Cluster’s commitment to ensuring equity, diversity and inclusion in aging research, both for researchers and participants. We are very lucky to be led by this champion for women in STEM!
