Medical students promote healthy lifestyles during social isolation.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle can be a challenge in the best of times but during a global pandemic older adults may have an especially difficult time maintaining a healthy lifestyle. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, cluster faculty member Dr. Brodie Sakakibara launched a virtual health initiative aimed at providing health coaching for older adults though medical student volunteers. Participants connect with the students by phone or videoconference for six coaching sessions and receive ongoing, personalized advice and support.
