The Importance of Balance

Cluster faculty member Brian Dalton was recently featured on Global News BC The Morning Show to discuss his research on balance and aging.

Dr. Dalton discusses how important balance is to everything we do in our daily lives, yet we only ever notice our balance when something goes wrong. As we age, changes in our brain, nervous systems and muscles affect how we respond to losing our balance putting us at risk for fall-related injuries. Exercise to maintain muscle strength and power is one of the best things we can do to maintain our balance as we age.
