The Joys of Attending University Later in Life

Cluster faculty member Jennifer Jakobi was interviewed to share about the Age Friendly University initiative on UBC Okanagan’s campus on CBC Radio BC Today with Michelle Eliot during a segment on UBC’s oldest graduate.

During the interview Dr. Jakobi describes some of the efforts we are making here at UBCO to make our campus space, programs and research more age friendly. She also discusses the richness that older adults bring to campus and the importance of adapting learning approaches to life circumstances throughout the lifespan. The interview also features Yee Siong Pang, who at the age of 78 was UBC’s oldest graduate in 2023, and callers who describe their experiences attending university later in life.
